What is integrative medicine (IM)?
Integrative medicine is a combination of complementary medicine (CAM) and alternative medicine, which is not part of conventional medicine. Within IM, we focus on the health of the whole person with all aspects of their lifestyle. Integrative medicine has already accumulated a fair amount of evidence of efficacy and safety. For this reason, this area of medicine is in high demand among patients. Integrative medicine uses an evidence-based approach to treat patients. The treating physician’s relationship and trust with the patient plays a large role. It is the treating physician who puts you on the path to recovery with good coordination of providers and specialists for you.
